Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. This is due to the fact that the Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have operated Bingo games for ages. Clients from many of the neighboring states pile in cars and head over to Oklahoma to wager on Bingo over the weekends.

The 1988 IGRA followed a precedent setting decision by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. From that instance, twenty three of the thirty nine Amerindian bands located in Oklahoma have introduced gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the gaming rules, and today control 10 gambling dens of their very own. Bingo was the game on which these gambling dens were founded. Electronic games such as slots weren’t permitted, because they’re believed to contribute to gambling dependency at a higher rate than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma governing edicts has altered to allow for large Native gaming gambling dens. You will now see American Indian gambling dens with slot machines, video poker and vingt-et-un tables. Craps and roulette are still not legal in the American Indian gambling dens yet, but this is just a matter of time. Nobody can say what having other gambling hall games in the bingo parlours will do for the draw of bingo.
